Ten Tips to Relieve Hemorrhoid PainWritten By Callum MartinezMany people suffer from hemorrhoid pain every day and are in search of treatments that will bring them relief. Here is a list of ten hemorrhoid remedies that worked well for me.
1. Put your feet up several times during the day.My job requires me to spend a lot of time on my feet and this often brings on hemorrhoid pain. I have found that simply putting my feet up for 10-15 minutes a few times during the day reduces hemorrhoid pain and swelling. 2. Drink plenty of water. I drink 10 glasses of water a day. I start by drinking a glass or two first thing in the morning before having my coffee. I also drink a large glass when I get home from work and again before going to bed at night. 3. Eat a dessert with fiber. We all know that you need to eat a high fiber diet in order to cure the constipation that typically causes hemorrhoids. I have found that an easy way to add fiber to my diet is to eat high fiber desserts such as fruit, dates and figs instead of cake or ice cream. I know that this is not as fun as cake and ice cream but your hemorrhoids will thank you for it! 4. Take a warm bath. Taking a warm bath is a relaxing and soothing way to end the day. I have found that a tub of hot water helps reduce my stress and ease my hemorrhoid pain. 5. Use talcum powder. I read somewhere that using a dab of talcum powder on the anal area after bathing helps healing by keeping the hemorrhoid dry. I do this daily and it really seems to help. 6. Use witch hazel pads or wipes. When I am away from home I use witch hazel wipes or pads to cleanse the area. These wipes come in packets that are discreet and easy to carry.I have found that witch hazel reduces minor hemorrhoid swelling and helps keep the area clean. 7. Use OTC hemorrhoid treatments. when I am having one of my occasional flare-ups I use hemorrhoid suppositories You can get these at the pharmacy or buy them online. 8. Consider taking a fiber supplement. I have taken oral hemorrhoid remedies that included fiber supplements. This helped me regulate my bowel movements so that I was not straining so much. Since I've incorporated sufficient fiber and water into my diet I no longer need to take these. 9. Use ice packs. I used ice packs on the affected area when I was experiencing a great deal of swelling This was very effective and not as uncomfortable as I thought it might be. 10. Get plenty of sleep. There are some recent studies that indicate that the body heals itself during sleep. I usually found that my hemorrhoid pain decreased after a restful night's sleep. These are the simple hemorrhoid treatments that helped me find relief from my hemorrhoid pain. Most of these simple treatments cost very little or nothing at all. If you are experiencing hemorrhoid pain I encourage you to try some of these simple treatments and see if they work for you!
